Archives Homecoming Display, Bailey Library 10: 00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Visit the Archives for a special Homecoming display, showing some videos of Homecoming celebrations from the past! Be some of the first to experience the new digital exhibits developed by the University Archives team. 25th Time Capsule Opening and Reveal, Aebersold Recreation Center 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Celebrate 25 years of Campus Recreation's home at the ARC, with the opening of the time capsule, which was placed during construction in 2000. Light refreshments will be served. Time capsule contents will be on display in the ARC throughout Homecoming Weekend. SRU Communication & Media Symposium, SSC 12:00 p.m. Communications and media alumni will have an open symposium for students and guests discussing their career journeys and current issues facing professionals. SRU Communication Media Hall of Fame and Alumni Mixer, 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM Alumni and friends of the Department of Strategic Communication and Media (formally Communication) are invited to kick off homecoming weekend with the annual Communication & Media Hall of Fame and Alumni Mixer on Friday, Oct. 17. The ceremony will celebrate current and incoming SRU Communication and Media Hall of Fame inductees and award winners. The alumni mixer starts at 2:30 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. Tickets include admission and refreshments. Pre-Show Mix and Mingle, SSC Theater 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Black Action Society + Campus Climate & Culture Presents: Mix and Mingle Pre-Show. Distinguished Alumni Dinner, Alumni House 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Please join us on Friday, October 17, when the Office of Alumni Engagement and the SRU Alumni Association will be recognizing Distinguished Alumni who have reached the highest level of accomplishment. “Red Bike” Performance, Stoner Blackbox Theatre 7:30 p.m. Red Bike, by Caridad Svich, directed by Laura Smiley: What kind of future will you have living in these here United States? Remember when you were eleven years old and you had a bike, one that made you dream about a world bigger than the one in which you live? This is that memory. Except it is now. Performances will be October 17, 18, 21, and 22 at 7:30pm; and October 19 at 2pm in the Stoner Black Box Theater. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased online at www.sru.edu/tickets or in-person at the Black Box ticket counter up to 1 hour before each performance. Tickets are general admission. House opens 30 minutes before the performance. Audience members are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early to find their seats. Homecoming Comedy Show, SSC Ballroom Featuring Jordan Conley 8:00 p.m. Students and alumni are invited to kick Homecoming Weekend off with laughter! Jordan is a self-proclaimed nerd who loves to talk about movies, superheroes, and theme parks. At the start of his career, he struggled to fit in and tried to be what everyone else thought he should be instead of being who he is authentically. “You genuinely crack me up.” That’s what Simon Cowell said after watching Jordan Conley‘s performance in his AGT audition. He’s a lead in a movie on Disney +, Under Wraps 2, and is the co-host with Bear Grylls on the game show, I Survived Bear Grylls, on Max. Jordan brings fast paced, high energy comedy that’s not just for adults, it’s for the whole family. Be some of the first to experience the new digital exhibits developed by the University Archives team. 50th Anniversary Concert - SRU Jazz Ensemble, Miller Auditorium 7:30 p.m. Celebrate 50 years of the SRU Jazz Ensemble with a special Homecoming concert and reception to follow at 9 p.m. The history of the ensemble - which includes international tours, several recordings, and countless performances with guest artists - will be highlighted during the 7:30pm concert in Miller Auditorium. Retired former directors Terry Steele and Dr. Stephen Hawk will be honored during the program. Patrons, including alumni of the SRU Music Department and Jazz Ensemble, are invited to a reception in Carruth Rizza following the concert. Save valuable time in line by pre-purchasing your ticket to the game here. Additionally, Mihalik-Thompson Stadium has gone cashless. Be sure to come to Game Day prepared! Tailgating Tailgating policy can be found here Parking & Transportation The SGA Happy Bus will be running from after the Homecoming Parade until Kick Off at 1 p.m., with designated stops across campus to transport alumni and students from parking lots to the main tailgate parking lot/stadium. The bus will resume operations after halftime of the football game and continue until after the game to return guests to their parking lots. A full schedule will be available prior to Homecoming.
